WFPMA Statement on the War in Ukraine
The continuing war in Ukraine is having a devastating impact on many lives with repercussions felt around the world. Our thoughts are with the people of Ukraine at this time. We know the daily flow of news can be overwhelming and many of our members will be concerned about friends, family & colleagues affected. It seems probable that the repercussions will impact widely across society, including for many of our Continental and National associations and their members.
Whether their workers or their families are directly affected, employers will want to help their people as best they can during this troubling time. Our WFPMA members around the globe have produced resources to support employers and people professionals in this task. Please contact your Continental and National Associations for local support and information. An example of the resources and guidance available can be seen on our EAPM member’s website: https://www.eapm.org/hr-for-ukraine/
This is a fast-moving situation with frequent changes expected to policy and practice. In many cases, it will be important to seek independent advice as appropriate from your national associations before taking action.
We’ll continue to monitor the situation and seek and share ways to support and unite HR professionals around the world.
